Two Slowakische technische Baubrigade unknow v

buried in my grandparents' village, Novafeltria (Rimini Apenin)

Diskuse
In the small cemetery of Novafeltria (in 1944 it was called Marcatino Marecchia) there have always been the graves of 2 unknown Czechoslovak soldiers, who fell in a bombardment of the town on 14 July 1944. Mercatino Marecchia was in charge of the "Slowakische technische Baubrigade" so they should be of this department. I would really like to get back to them...

Veľmi rád by som sa k nim vrátil...)

„Slowakische technische Baubrigade“ - Technical Brigade, renamed on July 1, 1944 to 2nd Technical Division.
From June 4, 1944, the brigade moved for 16 days to the San Marino border in the Verghereto (43°47'33.59"N 12°00'13.06"E) - Pennabilli (43°49'04.69"N 12°15'59.33"E) area. At the end of July 1944, the division was advanced to the city of Ferrara. In September, the division worked in the Rovigo (45°04'19.48"N 11°47'25.59"E) area, at the end of October in the Ostiglia (45°04'03.30"N 11°08'08.71"E) - Borgoforte (45°02'58.91"N 10°44'58.67"E) area. After a month, she was transferred to the Pavia area. (I hope I specified the geolocations well Very Happy)

Only Mercatino Marecchia - Verghereto - Pennabilli area- page 32

No names of the fallen are mentioned in the book. The book is mainly devoted to the guerrilla resistance of the division's adjuncts. Try to contact the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Rome with a request to find out the names of members of the division who are buried in Mercatino Marecchia, today Novafeltria. Attach a photo of the tombstone and everything you know.

Odpoveď z Vojenského historického archívu:
Dobrý deň, v súvislosti s Vašou žiadosťou boli prezreté všetky relevantné archívne fondy a zbierky Vojenského historického archívu v Bratislave, žiaľ s negatívnym výsledkom. V tunajšom archíve sa nenachádzajú archívne dokumenty o slovenských vojakoch pochovaných v dedine Novafeltria v Taliansku.

S pozdravom

Mgr. Peter KRALČÁK, PhD.
riaditeľ Vojenského historického archívu

Answer from the Military Historical Archive:
Hello, in connection with your request, all relevant archival funds and collections of the Military Historical Archive in Bratislava were examined, unfortunately with a negative result. There are no archival documents about Slovak soldiers buried in the village of Novafeltria in Italy in the local archive.

Sincerely

Mgr. Peter KRALČÁK, PhD.
director of the Military Historical Archive
