General Prof. Dr. Pēteris SNIĶERIS (7 Dec 1875 - 5 Dec 1944)
Served in the Russian Army medical service and joined the Latvian Army on July 9, 1919 as Colonel. After retiring, was appointed Professor at the Latvian University in Rīga. Remained in the capital during the Russian and German occupations of Latvia until his death.
