Then it crashed, burning near the little wood northeast of Villers Bretonneux, where it continued burning on the ground. - after the war his father with his comrade and eyewitness of his shot down Donald Gold went to find his remains, they successfully located the crash site and found wreckage of his Sopwith Camel D6491, but were unable to discover any trace of his son, so he is commemorated on the Arras Flying Services Memorial |
