9. | The 105th Mixed Brigade was formed in March 1937 in Valencia with veterans and midfielders from 1932 to 1935. The brigade was assigned to the 10th Division of the 1st Army Corps and went with it to the Battle of Brunete. The 105th Mixed Brigade cooperated in this battle in the occupation of Villanueva del Pardillo. On July 9, 1937, she crossed the Guadarrama River and continued advancing on the right wing of the offensive until she reached the Zarzalejo-Valquemado sector on July 12. Her advance stopped at Loma Negra, where she suffered heavy losses, forcing her to retreat to the right bank of the Aulencia River and stay in line in the sector from Casas Barrancas to the confluence of Guadarrama and Aulencia. After the battle, the 105th Mixed Brigade was assigned to the 69th Division of the 1st Army Corps, covering the Las Rozas sector of the inactive Madrid Front. On July 3, 1938, the 61st Division XII arrived at the Levantine Front. Army Corps, although its contribution was virtually nil when the operation in Levante ended the beginning of the Battle of Ebro. On January 13, 1939, the 105th Mixed Brigade moved to the front of Extremadura to take part in the Battle of Peñarroya and defended the front line in the Sierra Trapera-Mano de Hierro. |
